fifa 18 futmas event (christmas promotion) - what is futmas?

futmas is an annual event created by electronic arts to celebrate the christmas season and was organized for the first time with fifa 13. generally during this period the fifa ultimate team gamers are honored with free fut packs, promotions for the purchase of special fut packs (sometimes at reduced prices), themed kits and, since last year, also with special squad building challenges.

fifa 18 futmas release date - when does fifa 18 futmas start?

ea sports will announce the official release date of this year's futmas just before the start. however, a glimpse into the past shows when it is expected this year, at fifa 17 it started on december 16 (friday), in fifa 16 on december 18 (friday), so we assume:

fifa 18 futmas is expected to start on december 15, 2017. this is a friday. the event will be under three weeks, so it will be over in early january.

there are 3 new player futmas countdown squad building challenges every day from december 15 until december 24. ea released futmas sbcs featuring players who wore shirt numbers corresponding to the date the challenge went live: for example, the sbcs released on december 15 will feature players with shirt numbers 30, 29, and 28. the sbcs released on december 16 will be for players with jersey numbers 27, 26, and 25, continuing each day until the futmas countdown concludes with sbcs for players with jersey numbers 3, 2, and 1 on dec 24th.

the requirements of these futmas squad building challenges are quite high, with the demand many times of "team of the week" players and high team ratings (even 88 in the case of the sbc dedicated to modric)
